Mom (74) has anemia along with end stage COPD and required 2 transfusions in 2 days

She has end stage COPD. I know that’s a broad term but 2 weeks ago she was hospitalized due to low sodium from anxiety meds and COPD flare up. Was home less than 24 hours and wound up back in the hospital after a having a chain smoking party with herself. Now the problem is internal bleeding somewhere (waiting on CT scan results) and has required 2 transfusions in 2 days. She can no longer control her urine and has to wear diapers. This seems like the start of a downhill slide. My parents had me late in life and my dad just died 3 years ago from lung cancer. I just had a baby two weeks ago and this is so stressful. I guess I’m just venting, or seeing if anyone else experienced the same kind of situation and what was the outcome? I don’t know if I need to prepare for the end or prepare for a very long road of this.
