(Rant, Somewhat) Game is Become Too Difficult, Need New Game Suggestions

Discussion :will:

This is somewhat a Rant, people don’t have to necessarily reply but I figure to share my Thoughts as I plan to leave Wizard101 for other Titles. This isn’t a “Joke Post” either, this is a real world thought processing moment for someone now damaged by this Game.

(You can criticize me but it’s only going to fuel the fire for why I want to leave for Games that can fit with me better. “Git Gud”, you get the drill)

(Comments made with {} are to address some things people may say ahead of time.)

I’m an Older Player (with Legitimate, Undisclosed Intellectual Barriers) that loved Wizard101 back in 2008 for its SIMPLICITY and Expansive Decorating System. You might have recognized some Houses I’ve had previously like “Joshua’s Open Space” (The Open Space with all the Dailies & Dungeons) as an example.

Darkmoor’s (The World) EXTREME difficulty in the MAIN CAMPAIGN has caused me to have a SEVERE mental collapse and I’m now looking to leave Wizard101 (Pirare101 by extension) for Games that have LITTLE TO NO difficult content in them.

My breaking point came about first with Lord Beghast (The Werewolf Fight) and then a total collapse came during the “Underwater Bartleby Ghost Thing Fight”. Since I’ve been unable to complete the latter fight, my Character will likely permanently remain at Level 178.

{The Fight is EZ, just do “X, Y, Z”}

OK to YOU it’s easy but to ME it’s not that simple. The Game shouldn’t require that deep of thought in the Main Campaign.

My playstyle is FIXED to where I don’t put a lot of thought into what I cast (Attacks, Heals or Support) - (Im usually a Heal/Support Jade or Secondary Hitter, therefore I’m not a Person to be relied on entirely nor do I WANT to be relied upon entirely).

You can perceive this fixed play as “Selfish” but I feel like I should decide HOW I want to interact with and progress the Game/World around me with the Money I put into the Game for my Character (‘s Build, etc.). If there was ever an option to just simply “Buy my way through a World”, I’d gladly take it as Money isn’t a specific issue to ME. It’s such a “Non-Issue” for me that I could pay $100 per World to just be maxed out and return to what I love more which is Decorating.

{You’re a part of the problem, whaling your way through the Game, selfish, etc.}

I’m not most of the Community’s problems as I’m only trying to do 1 thing in Wizard101 and now ITS becoming unsustainable to do just that. I don’t do PvP, Hard Content, etc like some of yall do and I’m not usually FOR the Multiplayer stuff aside from Spiral Scene. I do “some Pet Building” but that isn’t a Community affecting activity.

I ONLY play Wiz to mentally detox from the world around me and cope with the various undisclosed challenges I face physically, mentally, & emotionally in life.

I absolutely DESPISE challenging content or content that FORCES me to change my fixed setups (Since I paid Good Money to have such a setup).

New Worlds anymore have become a challenging and stressful component of continuing to do what I love in Wizard101 which is Decorating (Even with Elixirs).

Mind you, I’m ALL FOR Challenging Content (Cheats, Patterns, etc.) BUT it needs to be ONLY in Side Quests & “Hard Difficulties/Challenge Modes”.

{So you’d want the Story to be a Cakewalk where you could beat it in a day with no Cheats?}

Simply, Yes. To ME, your STORY, Scenery & Characters should be the DRAW for the World, NOT the “Cheats”. Leave the Difficult Junk ASIDE.

{Why can’t you just Decorate and not Quest then?}

Because Kingsisle FORCES you to farm for certain Items from later Worlds and locks Items through various other Activities or Guilds (Another thing I despise since most Guild Owners are obnoxious in their Requirements). Even certain Houses are locked by progression (Mirage Apartments, Arcanum Apartment). Not all items can be sold to the Bazaar either, especially Items labeled as Crowns. No Housing Item Trading exists either. (Just join a Guild isn’t a valid comment because Guilds require (now) 8 people to form and it’s a shared House, not solely your own)

If Kingsisle would add a System like Elder Scrolls Online to where you can BUY the Farmed Items from a Unique Shop Interface inside your House with a small amount of Crowns per Item (Not Bazaar or Crown Shop), then this Post wouldn’t exist as I’d likely forever be a Level 120 Wiz and happy as I can ever be (Since Kingsisle hasn’t added anymore House/Item Exclusives (with or without Badge Requirements) that I’m aware of past that point).

If I could access EVERY Housing Item in ONE Crown Window, you wouldn’t hear from me ever again.

With most of the ranting aside now, it leads me to now figure out what Game I should call my new home. Suggestions are appreciated.

Im an avid fan of Decorating Games (Like Animal Crossing, Disney Dreamlight Valley, etc.) - (You can kinda see where my “Difficulty Compass” is set to and why I adore these Games).

I’m also a fan of Games that don’t require extreme logical lengths (Little Difficulty) like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! (I use an Early 2000s Broken Exodia Setup or High ATK Pierce & Equip Builds), Dragon Quest, Mario, Kirby, etc. (Understandably some of these have “Patterns” to adapt around but that’s better than Complex Cheats).

You can also see my Console Bias as I grew up a Nintendo Kid.

ESO is “OK” also but I’ve been annoyed at its difficulty lately as I’m a newer Player and learning it’s going to have the same issues as Wizard101.

{What about Toontown?} Not quite, Toontown DOES have Challenges (Especially Corporate Clash). Toontown doesn’t fit the “Turn the Brain Entirely Off” category for me. You have the CFO, CEO, etc. as an example of why it doesn’t work for me.

With all that this Post is done. Sorry if a lot of it is all over the place or some of it doesn’t make sense, blame the Werewolves for eating away at my brain I guess.
