Replacing my Stolen V-Strom

My DL650 got stolen over the summer and I've been having trouble deciding what's the next bike for me. I have a desire to be able to do ADV/dual sport riding but the reality is, I am mostly commuting year-round (northeast winter) and touring. I would like to do an occasional dirt adventure, maybe 3-5 adventure rides a year. I've done some BDR days on the Strom.

Buying used seems hard in this market. 30 year old bikes are going for $4k+. I am considering buying a new bike for the first time ever. My eye is on the Transalp. Seems like a good all around bike that is easily modified for any kind of rides I'd want to do. $10k price point, maybe less if I get the '25 before the new models come in.

Any recommendations to buy new in this price range or less? I'm open to a smaller dual sport that can handle highways if necessary. DR650 or KTM 390 maybe?
