Server giving papers to family member in Michigan.

Small Claims Procedure

Location: Michigan

Hi everyone, new to posting here, but I can't find an answer I can understand on Google so came to y'all. It seems my sister is being sued by a creditor and was served papers today. I am currently babysitting my nephew, and told the server who I was. He didn't believe me and refused to let me get my ID to prove I am not her. My very limited understanding is that they aren't supposed to or can't hand it off to someone else. Google AI basically said servers can't hand papers to family members without written consent.

So obviously the nice thing to do would be give them to my sister. However, I don't want to get involved in any way with her issues. Is it legal for them to hand them off to me, and if not, what am I supposed to do or who am I supposed to contact?
