I'm trying to reduce screen time before bed and am thinking of getting a wireless, screenless speaker for my room.
I sleep like garbage and want to start making steps to fix that. I read recently that it's smart to stop using your phone, TV, or devices with screens for 30 minutes before bed at the VERY least, and that you'd be best off cutting off screen time a full HOUR before turning in. I often outright fall asleep while browsing my phone in bed; disconnecting from it for a full hour before I sleep will be tough.
I'm thinking of finding a way to fill the time before bed in the absence of my phone. I like having some kind of background noise to have running in the background that I can occasionally listen to, so I'm thinking of getting a speaker that doesn't require me to actually interact with a screen to play music or podcasts or even a YouTube video I downloaded to listen to as I do stuff around my room before going to bed.
It's important that I find a speaker or player that doesn't have a screen, since that otherwise defeats the point of trying to unhook from my phone for the hour before bed.
Does anybody have any suggestions, or tricks or ideas that worked for you?
