How to get ride of bully stray cat

So there’s this strong dominant male cat , who’s a stray , lately been troubling my cats , he comes every night and beat them up and steals their food ,I have tried everything to scare him off , but nothing works , he keeps coming every night , I don’t want to take inhumane step , to end his life , but please recommend me other ways to get rid of him , he’s done enough injuries to my cats
