Protected Plays and Bonus Funds

So I haven’t played on PP in a while. I looked on the app yesterday and saw a protected play for $10. That loses. I get my bonus funds and I submitted a 5 dollar lineup this morning. Just hopped back on and got another protected play for $15.

I looked at the rules and it says balance funds only. In the past I don’t remember it being like this, I remember being able to use bonus funds.

Both questions tie together

If I deposited 10 dollars and used the other 5 of my bonus funds, would I only get 10 back in bonus credit?

I also remember that they used bonus credit first before they dipped into the cash balance. Would I have to play the 5 dollar bonus credit first before I use the protected play?
