My ipad air 5th gen is still on ios 18 should i update to 26.1?

I use my ipad for school and heard that it makes it much easier to use for school with the windows? I use a keyboard sometimes and can connect my mouse to it so I do that when I bring the ipad to cafes but when I have the option to, I just use my computer cause its just much faster. The google documents and other word apps just dont work the same and I hope that they update those apps to have the full functions like on the site. Anyways would love your thoughts and experiences on 26.1 if the new features are worth the update. A very common downside to it is the slide option which I use quite often for split screen.
