Are you able to use a persona in v3.5 when extending off a v3.5 generation?

Whenever I try to extend with my persona, I am locked into v. 4.5 or higher.

I have a ton of v. 3.5 songs with a persona that I want to fix. And I need to extend with the persona, otherwise the extension sounds off in vanilla v. 3.5.

So, any way to extend via persona in v. 3.5, like you've always been able to do? Why would they even remove this?
