Should I ask a new colleague for a drink?

Completely platonic.

I just started a new job in a new city and want to build my network of friends since the ones I have at the moment in this city are not very social.

Should I text him and ask him if he wants to grab a pint? He also just moved here. Today we ħad onboarding and only just met today so idk if its too much.

However, its friday night and my girlfriend who I live with already has her friend group… idk if its too soon to make mine

Tldr; ask new colleague i just met to do friday plans or too soon?
