Need some help building a pc

Hay reddit. For awhile now I've been trying to build a gaming pc, something affordable, leaning more on a more performance focused PC. But, I'm stuck.

I might be dumb but I'm incredibly annoyed by the process to which I find and buy the right PC parts, personally I'm not annoyed by the pricing or how I'll assemble the PC. But for some reason I'm just stuck on the planning stage of actually getting the parts, it doesn't help that everyone has their own "best build" which isnt bad, but it still hard to know which build is best to use.

Please help + I'm on a budget of 700 pounds, I can spend more, around 900 but 700 is the minimum.
