Friends who get upset when you quit?
“Well it’s just temporary, right?” “When can I ask you to drink again? A month?”
Today is day 101. This friend has not been supportive of the past few months of my life and I’ve given them space to deal with their emotions about it as they’ve asked by being distant and acknowledging and thanking me for holding space for them to speak for hours when they needed. I support them where they’re at in life, I just hoped for the same.
I’ve also let them know they don’t need to ask about alcohol - “the answer will always be no” those words actually came out of my mouth! I felt, so free!?!
I had an 8 week miscarriage. Knew about my surprise little miracle for 6 weeks and got to fall in love with them at what felt extremely early. I’m so grateful. I’m so incredibly sad. And I’m feeling all the feels.
But! I feel stronger than before and am so empowered to make this angel baby proud of me and continue on, and never drink again.
I’m doing it for my husband who has stayed by my side. He lifted me up. That man deserves the world. I just can’t believe he chose me. And still chooses me. I’m so in love and feel so honored. I’m in awe of him everyday ♥️ we celebrate our wedding anniversary this weekend and he’s been so supportive after my emergency surgery. Putting my socks on as it’s uncomfortable to bend and getting me everything I could want or need. Always having my heating pad on and ready where ever I may be.
I’m doing it because I can manage my PTSD and depression and anxiety better. I’ve clawed my way out of the pit and I see the sunshine. I’m becoming myself again. I’m finding new and old hobbies again! Putting my emotions into art that I can look back on and show my strength in a beautiful creations.
IWNDWYT or ever again ♥️
