Fort Hood ….

my fiancé is currently stationed in South Korea until april and finallyyyyy got his next duty station which is fort hood in texas! we are getting married in december and he’s planning on immediately enrolling me in deers so i can get placed on his orders too, but does anyone have any advice about fort hood and how it is? i’ve heard and seen so many things about it, how the city of Killeen is not so great and the crime rate is high (but where is it not high at this point?) and i’ve obviously heard about the horrible thing that happened at the OBGYN office there and someone was recently killed there as well. some of the things i hear are frightening and worry me a bit, especially if one day my fiancé will be on deployment and i will be alone there. we are not 100% set on doing on post housing or off post, so if anyone has any recommendations for that too pleeeaaassee send it all my way. i’m so nervous for all of this, the thought of moving away from everyone i know is so scary, i hope it will all be worth it once i’m finally with my man again <3 thank you !!!!
