Something feels different in a good way

In the past few years, I've had very frequent moments where I went "how the fuck did I die there", where I shot first then got deleted in a blink of an eye. Or moments where someone appeared for a millisecond on my screen and then instakilled me.

I don't know exactly what happened, but all the bullshit deaths are gone. Is it the aim assist nerfs? The servers? Better netcode? All the above? I honestly can't say I've had a single death where I felt cheated - every single time it was my fault, or I was outaimed. Completely anecdotal, but last time I felt like this was Cold War.

Anyone else have this experience?
