Yet another Pilot 823 nib question

I feel like I have read 100 posts like this on this subreddit and yet I still don't know which nib I should buy. You are surely super tired of seeing these kinds of questions.

I'm generally an extra fine nib person. My handwriting is small. But the smoothness of the medium is intriguing me.

I only write on my own paper (no exams to grade, etc.). I like Leuchtturm 1917.

I have a Lamy Safari in EF and TWSBI Eco in F.

I use Iroshizuku inks. And some Diamine.

TWSBI Eco + Kon Peki + Leuchtturm 1917 is pretty great.

I have tried Midori MD paper and it's somewhat underwhelming. I saw somewhere that Midori is the non-absorbent kind of paper while Leuchtturm is absorbent. I wonder: are medium nibs better on Midori and that's why I don't like my EF/F nibs on it?

Are there some great combinations? E.g. 823 F with Rhodia or 823 M with Midori? If I were to get the medium, what are some good paper options?

What would you have me do? Thanks!
