How do you manage your energy and time with nparents?

[Advice Request]

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all doing well!

I am seeking some advice from anyone who has been or is in a similar situation to me.

Lately, my nfather has been issuing me a lot more tasks without asking me for my availability (e.g., commanding me to coordinate with home inspectors for his tenants). He feels entitled to my time regardless of what I am doing.

I still live at home. I work remotely part-time + school part-time. I also have a lot of fatigue from my health conditions (I am working with my doctor to get the right med/dosages). My daily energy levels are already quite drained and my priorities are work>school>health/doctor visits>chores. I am hoping to land a full-time job next year and move out in the next three years.

He is quick to anger/yell if I enforce any boundaries or point out I have work/school tasks that take precedence over checking if the fire alarms are up-to-date for an inspection 2 weeks later. I feel like I can never say "no" because he views that as "disrespectful behaviour". It's exhausting to deal with the temper tantrums and I end up acquiescing to his demands because it is more draining for me to fight/argue.

Is anyone in a similar situation (or has been in a similar situation)? How did you/ do you deal with managing your time/energy with nparents's demands?
