Looking for books similar to Swimming at Night by Lucy Clarke

Hi!

I’m hoping for some recommendations from readers who’ve enjoyed Swimming at night (also published as the sea sisters) by Lucy Clarke. I read it years ago and I’ve been craving something with a similar feel. I remember being completely drawn in by the atmosphere; that mix of travel, mystery, and emotional complexity that Lucy Clarke does so well. I loved how the story balances a gripping plot with complicated sibling dynamics and a slow unraveling of secrets. The travel element felt vivid and immersive without ever becoming escapist fluff, and I appreciated how the narrative switches perspectives in a way that gradually builds tension rather than feeling gimmicky.

I’d love to find something that captures that same blend of immersive settings, layered relationships, and a story that’s driven more by characters and emotional tension than by shock-value twists. Maybe something that involves travel or a strong sense of place, especially anything coastal or atmospheric?

If you’ve read anything that gave you the same kind of feeling or fits the vibe of Swimming at Night, I’d really appreciate your recommendations! Thanks in advanced!
