Continued VPS Confusion

My VPS planet is 51 because of Advanced Teleporters. Currently my mine rate is about 2M/sec with no backlogging.

I get into the double digit S galaxy value in tournaments but I'm not sure what role my VPS is playing. Is it just to get larger drops to speed up crafting? Or do you get to a point where you sell the debris drops? If it's just for crafting, then doesn't that peter out once you get in the S tier cause now advanced teleporters are like 1/1000th your galaxy value?

I'm wondering if this is just as good as I get for now until I unlocked more managers, higher rooms, more stars, etc.
