Brooklyn native deciding on what to do
Ive lived in deep south Brooklyn with my family for my whole life, but im looking to buy a condo. Honestly, I was hoping to buy in downtown JC but after losing a few bids for properties with decent sqft, semi-new construction, and low HOA. Everything else on the market looks bad or out of my price range. Im starting to realize that maybe I can only afford my own neighborhoods.
I think the biggest thing holding me back from commiting is that, I won't have much of a social life unless I really go out of my way to make it. All my friends, all my coworkers, live in downtown JC, nobody lives in south Brooklyn, not even downtown brooklyn cause its unaffordable in downtown. Im in my late 20s, so bit of a slow start to life.
Not sure how the social scene would be if I went to try to meet people in my area, maybe around midwood or gravesend. Would like to hear from any late 20s or early 30s that decided to settle in southern brooklyn
