Freebies started the day 2 minority religions got reservations in India.

There was no real reason to give muslims and christians reservations but they were purely a long term political revdi given many decades back. This revdi is not reversible without political suicide. Politicians will find new ways to give revdi so we are screwed unless we manage to change the thinking of Indians. For poor Indians, everything they can get is a blessing. If individual political parties can decide to give something to their states, all this should be stopped.

Only and only a fixed amount based on fixed criteria should be given and any other scheme should be made illegal.
