How would dispatch season 2 work exactly? (if there's going to be a season 2)

I’m new to Telltale-style games, so I’m a bit confused about how Dispatch Season 2 would work. Would it be released as a separate game where we manually import or re-enter our choices, or would it function as an update/expansion to the original game that automatically carries over our previous decisions? Just trying to understand how choice continuity is usually handled.
