I Have A Feeling That Metroid Prime 4 Is Retro Studios Using Scrapped Ideas from Prime 3

SpoilerDiscussion

A big part of Prime 4 seems to be Sol Valley acting as a central hub connecting the main areas (kinda like a way larger version of Tallon IV's Landing Site or Aether's Temple Grounds) along with using Vi-O-La to get to different areas as well as optionally using it in specific areas for combat/faster traversal. This sounds very similar to some cut content in Metroid Prime 3. There's a few interviews where the developers mention originally planning on a more "open world" design (later clarified to mean a large central hub connecting planets and allowing to do stuff outside of the "core level" and not full on open world, so I'm assuming still standard Metroid gameplay just with a way larger map and with more nonlinear elements) and greater usage of the gunship (not full control but still much greater usage than the final product) to go to different planets and in the planets themselves for Prime 3 before being cut due to the Wii's low power. I also noticed the trailer mentions "converting crystals into energy." Another cut concept from Prime 3 was optional bounty hunting missions where Samus could unlock new enhancements for herself and the gunship. Perhaps these crystals will allow upgrades such as a larger blast radius from the charge shot or enhancements to Vi-O-La? I also am wondering if the trailer's mention of "following distress signals to help troopers" means the game will straight up have a reinterpreted version of the "optional bounty hunting missions" to also enhance Samus/Vi-O-La. Of course we won't fully know until the game is out but I have a very large suspicion those cut elements from Prime 3 heavily influenced the direction Prime 4 seems to be taking in its gameplay.
