Was swapped to new reddit despite having it turned off in prefs

I restarted Firefox and when it reloaded my reddit tabs, I was swapped to new reddit despite it being turned off in preferences. I had to toggle the switch twice to turn it back.
Is the site having glitches related to this? This is quite annoying.
