Vita USB-C mod unreliable?
I installed one of the “easy install” mods for the PS Vita 1000 yesterday. Passed continuity checks and all, in fact, the mod worked enough for me to charge the console a few times up to 100%. What’s interesting is that it has twice stopped charging until I reflowed the mod with the hot air station, which is, of course, quite inconvenient. Before reflowing again, it does not pass the continuity checks, so yeah, it seems like the connection between the pins and the mod isn’t very reliable. Is this a common experience? Is this something that could be solved by heating the solder further so the joints are more reliable? Or should I just forego the solder joints entirely and solder cables from the points to the board? I’d love to hear your insight.
