Okay, so I just reread the plot for 12 Years a Slave. It's a tough watch, obviously. But seeing 'kind master' Ford in the summary always gets me. Like, how kind can you be if you own and sell people? That whole system was just messed up. Solomon's story is heartbreaking. Imagine losing everything like that. And the ending, with his kidnappers getting away? Ugh.
