Tessa Bailey ending Big Shots series early?

Hi all! I got an email from Tessa Bailey today where she said that "The next (and final) book in the Big Shots series is releasing in January!"

Does anyone else find this surprising? Especially since the next one is going to be Madden & Eve who we were introduced to in book four (Pitcher Perfect). Since book three (Dream Girl Drama) it seemed like Mailer and the new GM/owner were going to be set up for a book. And it even hinted at the end of book four (the flashforward epilogue) that Mailer ended up in a relationship that had some trials and tribulations so I'm shocked by the news she's not going to write that book.

I know in interviews she mentioned that she has written a book that isn't within her normal genre, so maybe that's related? But dying to talk to someone who is at least vaguely aware of the series about it!
