Deciding my next move

Hey guys really quick I’m trying to learn about cameras but people are also giving me like 40k different options so I thought I’d ask here for help!

Budget: $800 • ⁠Country: Canada • ⁠Condition: new, or used most likely used • ⁠Type of Camera: idk • ⁠Intended use: video, I started making short films for film festivals. • ⁠If photography; what style: • ⁠If video what style: narrative fictional with like thriller, and drama added in • ⁠What features do you absolutely need: something bigger then I have and something that I can start building up my gear around, as I have just a camera and a tripod right now • ⁠Portability: doesn’t matter to me I’ll get bags or boxes and I’m a decently big dude I can carry stuff • ⁠Cameras you're considering: there is a M50 MK 2 extra battery and such for like $700 around me but other then that I’m lost completely • ⁠Cameras you already have: my only camera is a second hand Canon rebel SL1 with the kit lenses and one extra lens’s I got cheap
• ⁠Notes: I could really use the help to find something better for what I need it for Ive been using this one on and off for years but now that I’m really committed to working with cameras I feel like I’ve outgrown this one
