What was the point of signing up for presale codes

I thought the whole point of registering for a presale code was to avoid Ticketmaster, stubhub, etc?? I signed up for the code, went to her site this morning, clicked the link for presale, and it immediately put me in line on Ticketmaster and never asked me for my presale code?? I’m so confused. Did this happen to anyone else??
