Marriage is iffy.

I am not married but am in a relationship with a man I want to marry (my boyfriend). He says he wouldn’t live for his wife but his kids and God. His reasoning? He says hes afraid of ending up like the men who end up with suicidal ideation because of the fact that about 70% of marriages are initiated by women. I just want to know from married men, is this how you think? I am trying to understand what he is saying but I am thinking this is a bit worrisome….
