I agree with this post. Vaggie should feel sorry for the other exorcists.

I kind of understand why she helped Charle in the fight. I'm not criticizing it because she did the right thing. I'm criticizing it because it came so easily. She had no reservations before or after the battle. And she should have had some reservations, after all, they were her battle sisters with whom she spent years. Besides, she knows she's not special; other exorcists don't want to participate in exterminations either. Some are psychopaths, and some are like Vaggie and the exorcist girl, fighting only because they're afraid of Adam and Lute. The argument could be made that she resents her sisters for not doing anything when Vaggie was thrown out, but then Vaggie would be a hypocrite because she did nothing when Lute took the exorcist girl away (she initially wanted to defend her, but ultimately submitted to Adam and continued fighting for him). The other exorcists are intimidated and only follow orders, just like Vaggie. Even if she didn't have any friends there, she should have known that other exorcists are just like her, and Vaggie should have at least identified with the other exorcists. Instead of fighting Carmila and Out for Love, we could have had Vaggie's hesitation (whose past revolves around not wanting to kill) or fighting her sisters (she didn't want to kill anonymous sinners, so she should even be reluctant to kill the exorcists she spent years with and whose names she knows). They could even have included a brief scene in the second season showing that this somehow affected Vaggie.
Imagine a scene like this somewhere in the season. Even in the sixth episode, after an argument with Carmila, there's a scene where Vaggie flies away to some isolated place in hell. It turns out she's collected the helmets of fallen exorcists and created a small, modest cemetery. Near the helmets are wooden crosses with the names of the fallen exorcists. Vaggie lights a candle at each grave, then sits on a bench and quietly cries. A short scene, lasting a few minutes, would have added so much character to Vaggie and heightened the impact of the flashback scene. It would have shown that the exorcists are also victims of Adam and Sera.
Lute and Heaven also don't care about the exorcists' deaths. They're only interested in Adam's death, but that doesn't surprise me. Lute was only interested in Adam, and Heaven has a rather negative opinion of exorcists after discovering the extermination (they likely don't have information about how exorcists were treated), and for Sera, the exorcists have always been just instruments of her will.
I feel so sorry for the exorcists; no one seems to care about them. Maybe they're better off under Abel's rule? Maybe Abel gives them delicious toffee candies and teddy bears with the words "I'm sorry for my father's shitty treatment."
