Best no BS baby monitor?

FTM here currently 22w pregnant and working on my registry. Call me a boomer or old fashioned (I’m 25yo lol) but I can’t be bothered with a fancy schmancy WIFI wall mounted apps and all monitor.

I don’t want something that’ll have me checking my phone all the time. I feel like it’s more anxiety inducing and also what if the wifi goes out? I’ve heard people say they’re quite pricy and useless if there’s no wifi.

So I’m looking for a good ol’ sound monitor that I can place near me if I’m not with baby while he’s napping/sleeping that’ll transmute the crying like what my parents had basically ! One I can easily bring with me to people’s house or on holiday etc.

Any suggestions ?
