Does this seem wrong?
I made another post here about a month ago about my experience with a gynecologist, so I won't be getting into too much detail about what happened before, but some new things happened and I can't help but feel like this is extremely wrong.
I hadn't had a period for 4 months, went to a gyno, got refused birth control. She said I'd be prescribed only when I get my period. I got a breakthrough bleed after 4 months, even though my lining was thin. I bled for 2 weeks, however during that time I couldn't call in to tell about it. I called at the end of the period.
She told me that I can't get birth control, that I need to do hormone tests. Which would be fine, only the problem is she wants me to wait until I get another period.
From what I was researching, if a person has very irregular periods, the doctor has to do hormone tests without waiting for the first 3 days of a period. At this rate it could take me another 4 months to even get one and I simply can't live like this. It seems wrong to me, but she says she "went to a conference" and she was told that this is how things have to be done.
I'm not sure if I should be going to another gynecologist or what to do, because I can't be living like this when there's such a simple fix and I want to go on birth control myself. I feel like I'm getting denied medical care. But at the same time I don't want to do something that's going to harm me if I did do it.
