Christmas Presents
For my daughter‘s 3rd birthday, we got her a princess dress from the Disney store. We got it big and she’s now 7 and it is starting to get small. She has mentioned that she needs a new one and then that was the best present she ever got.
At Halloween, I got her a really nice princess dress not quite the same quality as the Disney store but close. I’ve also ordered her accessories off of Amazon. And put it all away for Christmas. The total was just under $70
My son, 9, is really into Legos and robotics and says he wants to be an inventor when he grows up. For Christmas I want to get him a robot. He has not asked for one, but I don’t think he knows that it’s an option. After researching it and picking the robot that’s best for his age and skill level, It’s about $200.
I’ve always just gotten my kids what they want for Christmas and haven’t worried about the price comparison, but they’re getting older and they’re starting to realize these things.
Additionally, to get my son a robot and my daughter, a princess dress, even though that’s what they both want just rubs my feminism the wrong way.
And add the cherry on top my son’s ADHD and may be autistic, he gets more attention at school and my daughter is noticing. I’m now a single mom and $200. It’s a lot but manageable, and this is educational at the same time so I’d be willing to spend the extra money.
Not really sure what I’m looking for, but let me know what you think.
