Serious Question
"Why do some Black women feel unsupported or talked to harshly by Black men?" I'm asking this with real sincerity, not to attack anyone. I'm a Black woman. and throughout my life I've had a lot of negative experiences in how some Black men have spoken to me - harsh tones, name-calling, or dismissiveness. It's something that's honestly been painful and confusing, and I'm trying to understand where it comes from. At the same time. I fully acknowledge that Black women aren't perfect either — we also have to take accountability for how we communicate, how trauma shapes us, and how we sometimes contribute to conflict without meaning to. I don't think this issue is one-sided. But even with that accountability, the pattern still feels real. So I'm genuinely asking: Why does it sometimes feel like Black women receive the toughest tone or treatment from Black men - emotionally or verbally - compared to how they interact with others? Is it cuitural? Trauma-based? Miscommunica-tion? Stress? Something deeper?
