Being Monitored for Preeclampsia
35 weeks
I have been having severe swelling in my feet and legs that doesn't go down regardless if I prop my legs up or not, along with some breathlessness, heart palpitations and floaters in my vision. I work in a school so I had the nurse check my BP yesterday morning when I got there. 158/104, HR 105.
I called my ob, they told me to come to labor and delivery for more monitoring. I go in and they monitor me for roughly 4 hours, my BP does not improve. My urinalysis was clear, but my rbc, hemoglobin, hematocrit, MCV, MCH were all low, my Neutrophil % was high, my lymphocyte % was low, and my last BP before leaving the hospital was 140/101. My heartrate was fluctuating between the high 90s/low 100s. Apparently I was contracting every 4-5 minutes, but because my cervix is still closed and because I wasn't feeling the contractions, they sent me home to monitor at home. I took my BP once more yesterday and it was 147/97, with a heart rate of 93. My blood oxygen levels were 99-100% yesterday despite the breathlessness, which is good.
This morning, no improvement in how I'm feeling. BP was 145/107, HR 97, blood oxygen 98%. this was after sitting still for 20 minutes to get a fair reading. This afternoon same thing, no improvement in how I'm feeling, BP 153/96, HR 93, Blood oxygen down to 97%. Im not feeling worse but certainly not feeling any better.
I have to monitor over the weekend, and I have an appointment on Monday. Ob says if my BP doesn't improve by then, I'll have to deliver at 37 weeks. She is still transverse, and if she doesn't flip I may need a c section, which I am comfortable with. The issue is I'll be 37 weeks on the 26th, my mom is having surgery the 25th.
All of this is sudden onset within the past few days. This entire pregnancy my blood pressure has been stellar, near perfect. I'm exhausted, my chest feels tight but doesn't hurt, I can't breathe, and my feet and shins and calves ache because they are SO swollen. Ugh.
