There is no worse feeling than falsely believing that you are a good singer, only to get instantly humbled when someone confirms just how bad you sound
I was such a delusional fool to think that I was actually talented. But after trying to join a choir I got laughed at by the judges and they told me to never ever sing again in my life. It broke me. It was like one of those American idol auditions where the person just sounds terrible and gets clowned. That’s what happened to me. This happened years ago but it still traumatized me.
The saddest thing is that they were only being honest. I just don’t understand why if you sing bad people immediately start to villainize you for even attempting to sing at all. I don’t know I guess singing is only for those born with great voices. It will never be me even if I took 1000 lessons I’d still be terrible.
I wish I could make myself not care. I used to love singing but now that I realize how awful I actually am at it I don’t think I ever want to do it again. It’s too painful and depressing.
