brand consistency vs creative freedom - where's the line for small business marketing?
own a small cocktail bar. need new posters constantly - weekly specials, seasonal menus, live music, trivia nights. that's like 2-3 designs every week.
tried hiring a designer ($800/month) but couldn't afford it after 3 months. tried fiverr next but every designer had different style so my posters looked like 5 different bars. customers kept asking if we rebranded lol.
been doing it myself in canva but spending 3-4 hours per poster and it still looks amateur. templates are too generic.
the real problem isn't making posters. it's keeping them consistent. my bar has this dark moody vibe, craft cocktails but not pretentious. how do you translate that into designs every week when you don't speak design language?
friend mentioned some AI tool that "remembers your style". was skeptical but tried it. told it about my bar's vibe once, it generated options, I picked one. next week just said "jazz night friday" and it matched the style automatically. same colors, same fonts, didn't have to re-explain.
been using it maybe 2 months. made 20 something posters. they actually look consistent now. sometimes gotta regenerate a few times but way faster than canva.
costs like $20-25/month which is less than one fiverr poster. saves me probably 15 hours a month.
anyone else dealing with this? how do you keep everything matching without a full-time designer?
