Another Doctor’s reviews are making me reconsider job offer. Should I be worried?
So I’m considering this new PCP job (IM) but there’s only one other doc (relatively new doc who finished in 2017 FM) and a new PA in a downtown location in a medium sized metro area. I was reading some reviews and the docs aren’t that great overall (around 2.9 of 18, with details on Google) along with Health grades 2.9 of 10). The PCP job def has a good benefits package and higher than average starting salary with an employed large network hospital system. I’m in need to start a job since I graduated but don’t know how I feel about my colleague being this bad with reviews. I’ve rarely seen something like that. Other issue is the call schedule isn’t really defined either and that from a friend I’ve heard the place is run like a mill and they say the average daily patient volume is 20-25 a day otherwise.
Should I be skeptical of this? Red flags? Or should I go in and just try to be the best doc I can be? I feel like I can do the best for my patients otherwise and create a dedicated panel that I will put my best foot forward for, which would speak for itself in reviews at large. Any thoughts, suggestions, and insights?
