Here's your paragraphs queens. I did a paper on this. I was rambling before, but here's a clean post for ya xxx

If took 50% of all the 1%'s wealth in the UK you get a one time payment of 700 billion, about 8 months of government spending, those are the facts.

First, Gary’s favourite trick: “Look how rich the 1% got, they did that by buying off politicians!” He’s right. the 1% got richer, but so did everyone else. Real wages +145 % since 1980. Your phone’s better, your Tesco shop costs less in real terms and you make 145% more on average in 2024 than people did in 1980. So why the fuck are you still broke and living in a box room at 32?

Earnings vs House Prices. Because one single thing went up 1137 % in real terms.

Your wages crawled up to on average +145 %. three-bed semi rocketed to almost twelve times what it was in 1980. Every extra pound you earned got swallowed by the same greedy asset.

Income Growth by Percentile

Who got the cash? Bottom 10 % – irrelevant 115% more dog shit is still dog shit, but it's not a good look for m'wealth inequality is it? Working-age bottom half – people like you and me – scraped +45 % to +65 %. Top 1 % – up 195 %. Classic “rich vs poor” story Gary shoves down your throat every day… until you ask the one question this grifter will never answer:

Who the fuck owns the houses that went up 11×?

Wealth Share + Home-ownership by Age. Top 10 % own 57 % of all wealth. But they’re not City bankers in Lamborghinis or some billionaire class that indirectly pays this mans bills. They’re retired dinner ladies, postmen, and teachers who bought a house for three times salary in 1988 and now sit on eight hundred grand to a million quid, tax-free. Over-65s own eighty percent of Britain’s housing wealth. Under-45s? Ownership collapsed from seventy percent to under forty.

That’s not the 1 %.

That’s your parents and grandparents. And guess what? They are not to blame either, they are the partly the reason but they are not to blame, you see the true problem is, no one talks in facts anymore, everything is clickbait nonsense, if you ask this class of people would they be willing to have a relatively lower priced house if it meant their grandchildren could have the life they had and be able to buy a house and start a family 95% would say yes, but they have never been asked that question, and they have voted in good faith with limited information for what they thought was best, as an example they have consistently voted for decades against mass immigration which just adds fuel to the fire, not the total cause of the affordability crisis, but adding 8 million people net in under 30 years has obviously not helped.

Everyday Costs. Childcare: up 540 % - too many children for current infrastructure, mass immigration problem. Rent: up 294 % - too many people for current infrastructure, mass immigration problem. University: from zero to sixty grand in debt. Everything you need to start a normal adult life got completely fucked but, this isn’t corporate greed. This is supply and demand on a market that was deliberately, maliciously locked shut.

So who locked it? Fourteen to fifteen million pensioner homeowners who voted in good faith for what they thought was in the countries best interest based on lies spun by every government since 1997. Forty years of spineless Labour and Tory governments too terrified to build a single fucking house. And on top of that locked system they poured twenty million extra people. The exact same open-borders, globalist, “tax the rich” policies that Gary Stevenson still defends in every single interview are the policies that created the nightmare he screams about every day for profit.

He knows exactly who holds the wealth. He knows exactly who votes to keep the system locked. He will never say it, because the second he admits the villain isn’t some hedge-fund prick on a yacht, but the 75-year-old couple next door who has been lied to about the same left wing policies Gary supports, his entire grift collapses overnight.

That’s not ignorance. That’s a calculated lie. Gary isn’t stupid. He’s a multi-millionaire ex-Citi trader who looked at the same numbers we just looked at and decided lying to you pays better than telling the truth.

Conclusion: So what does the 1% have to do with the problems today? Practically nothing

Based on everything the actual data shows us:

Claim people often makeWhat the numbers actually say
“The 1 % rigged the system”False. The 1 % didn’t create the planning laws, the council-house sell-off, or the mass-immigration decisions.
“Billionaires bought politicians to suppress wages and inflate assets”False. The policies were driven by ordinary older homeowners’ votes + short-term fixes for NHS/universities/care-sector staffing.
“The 1 % are the cause of young people being priced out”False. They are beneficiaries, not architects. Their wealth grew because they had a lot of wealth to begin with, but they did not create the problems or buy politicians to create the problems.
What is trueGovernment policy (both parties) over 40 years did two gigantic, deliberate things: 1. Gave older homeowners misleading information, causing a lock on housing supply and created red tape and with overbearing planning laws, but I agree with partly, no one wants to the countryside into Baghdad, again, bad government policy importing millions of foreigners when every voted against it at every opportunity. 2. Added ~20 million extra people (gross immigration) while refusing to build anywhere near enough homes, schools, GPs, or nurseries.
Who actually benefits mostThe top 30–40 % of the wealth distribution — almost all ordinary pensioners and pre-2005 buyers — plus the 1 % who were already positioned to scoop the biggest gains.

The housing crisis, the rent crisis, the childcare crisis, the NHS waiting lists, the wage suppression at the bottom — none of these were engineered by the 1 % buying off government.

They were the direct result of decades of democratic, bipartisan government policy that:

  • protected existing homeowners’ wealth above everything else, and
  • kept importing millions of people while deliberately refusing to match the population growth with homes and infrastructure.

The 1 % got richer (of course they did — they always do when any asset inflates), but they didn’t need to lift a finger or bribe anyone. The system did it for them. There's the truth. You could take all the wealth from the 1% of the UK and you wouldn't put a dent in the problems this country faces because of deliberate policy decisions lying politicians both tory and labour have implemented since Tony Blair.
