Getting into throne and liberty

Destiny 2 player here, as the game is in a very sad state rn I didn't a new mmo to scratch that itch and my options were warframe or throne and so I wanted to know how hard is it to get into the game. I tried warframe but it's just a lot, like a lot lot. D2 was confusing but not nearly as much as warframe. I don't mind the grinding in fact I actually kinda like it, my only question is how hard is to have a grasp over everything in the game, how long will it take and can I actually go fully f2p (d2 got me broke) thanks in advance
