Christ suffered to bring us to God. –1 Peter 3:18
For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the Righteous One for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.
–1 Peter 3:18
If Christ is God, then Christ was bringing us us to himself, which is not what the text says. For Christ drew us all to God in his own body, the temple of the Father's righteous Holy Spirit.
Notice here that Christ died for the sins of all the unrighteous, so that any of us may come to his Father, the one true God. This is why he said "It is finished" and the veil to the Holy of Holies was split open, that man could reach his God through the atonement of Christ, the eternal high priest of heaven.
