Eating in OR?

Vent

Im still really green at all of this, zero experience or education prior to this job where im currently a vet assistant/kennel tech (im referred to as both) and i understand like vet medicine has different standards than human medicine especially because the crossover of bacteria from humans to animals isnt really the same as human to human but like. is it common or appropriate for someone whos supposed to be assisting in a surgery for a dog to keep leaving the room and also eating snacks in the room while the surgery is happening?? the vet didnt really say anything about it but it just doesnt seem like. okay to do 🧍🏻‍♂️

sorry if this is really minor in the grand scheme of things i was just really baffled as i was doing anesthesia monitoring during this and the crunching was also really distracting lol
