Let Users Resell Game Licenses on Steam

Suggestion

Hey Steam community,

I’ve been thinking… why not let users resell their owned game licenses? Right now, if you buy a game, it’s stuck on your account forever. But sometimes people buy games they don’t play, or just want to trade them safely.

Here’s a simple model that could work:

  • Users can sell a game they own only once.
  • Steam takes a small commission (like 30%) and the dev also gets a cut.
  • Minimum price = 50% of the original store price.
  • All transactions stay within Steam, so it’s safe and controlled.

This way, users get more flexibility, devs still earn money, and Steam doesn’t lose revenue.

Would love to hear what you guys think! Could this actually work?
