Advent of the Divine: "The Death of a God" Chapter 4 | A 7th Millennium Story
Act 1: The Death of a God
Chapter 4 - Ahri
by Emmanuel Ordway
Chapter 3 here.
Ahri watched the new Eonvym walk past her and Fictillis, his arms forcing the two to make a way for him. Who was this Shaikyn thinking he was to get on her ship, rip apart her hull, get one of Tobias’ frames ejected out into space, and now force her around just to get to a computer?
Ahri stood up a little taller and flexed her four arms, throwing her shoulders back and ready to speak more aggressively at this Eonvym before Fictillis set his hand on her shoulder, his visor still pointed in the direction of the computer screen, suggesting his eyes were on it as well. She looked at the large hand on her shoulder, taking the entirety of her shoulder in its grasp, before Ahri looked up at Fictillis. She followed his gaze to the computer screen and saw lines of code being generated on it as Kilegros kept typing on the keyboard as fast as he could.
Soon the Eonvym stepped away from the table and computer, motioning his front hands forward to the screen.
“There we go,” He let out a low sigh of relief. “Neptune. Here's the coordinates.”
“Neptune?” The voice above them, Ahri’s, and Fictillis’ all joined in at once the two Shaikyn glancing at each other.
“What? Surely by now the colony there is a flowering city, eh?” Kilegros laughed, his eyes now seeming to be happier and hope filled.
Ahri stayed silent for a moment, carefully selecting her words.
“Neptune. . . It’s untamable.”
“What?” Kilegros turned and his eyes dug into her visor.
“The colony there. . they died. The recordings say the planet seemed to swallow them.”
“Ok stop messing around. We have a city to get to.” Kilegros shook his head in disbelief, almost like his reason to continue relied on this non-existent city on that cured planet.
“She’s right,” The voice above spoke swiftly. “The colony to Neptune survived on the surface for three months before being destroyed, few survived.”
Kilegros lowered his hand and set his hands on the table before yelling and slamming his fist into the metal furniture below him, his fist completely breaking through like a hot knife through butter.
“FUCK! So, there are survivors! Who survived?” He yelled at the ceiling while Ahri broke away from Fictillis’ hand and reached up to smack her hand on Kilegros’ shoulder.
“HEY! Dickhead, that's my table!” She yelled at him while Fictillis grabbed her back arms and pulled her back away from the other Eonvym.
“Yeah, yeah.” Kilegros threw her anger off while he reached under the table and wedged the metal edges to sort of cover the hole, the job sloppy and uneven.
“Thirty people survived the colony.” The voice answered Kilegros’ question after waiting for Ahri.
“How many Eonvym were there?”
“Just one.” The voice responded again immediately, making Kilegros glad for a moment that there was a Hydra nearby and he was able to access this information so quickly.
“Did she survive?” Kilegros looked back up at the ceiling, a hint of worry in his voice before it vanished back into his aggressive state.
“The Eonvym did survive, now she resides on a farm on Saturn. Why are you asking so many questions?” The voice continued.
“Yes, why are you asking the questions here?” Fictillis spoke up and stepped forward, puffing his chest out to look even bigger than the other Eonvym.
“Because. .” Kilegros caught his words, choosing them carefully to evade his true intentions, he chose to weaponize his truth.. “I’m on a mission from a higher calling.”
“A mission? From a higher calling? Explain more.” The voice above spoke.
“While I was dead, I was in some place. . and a being came to me. It told me my mission and now here I am, awakened on this ship.” Kilegros looked at Fictillis while he put his aggression into his words.
“You should write this all down, it would be a great story to tell children.” Fictillis spat at him, not believing Kilegros as he crossed his arms.
“You saw it for yourself, I came back to life.”
Fictillis stopped for a second while he examined Kilegros’ body, seeing the burn marks from their fight, and noticing a few small holes in his suit with dried blood around it.
“So, you did. How could I trust that? What if you never died and were only knocked out or something?”
Kilegros sighed and stepped forward to Fictillis, holding his hand up in front of him while electricity sparked between his fingers.
“Let me do it again then.” He nodded as the lightning angled into a sharp spear, quickly cooling into ice cold enough where Fictillis and Ahri felt the chill a few meters away.
Kilegros turned the sharp end up and stabbed the spear into the ground, the edge at his heart while he fell upon it, the spear's intense edge able to easily separate iron. It cut straight through his body and out the other end of his torn suit while the end of the spear slowed his fall, the ground forming more ice, chilling the area around it tremendously.
It all happened like a flash in front of Ahri’s eyes that once her mind processed what had happened, she jumped back, thinking he made the spear to attack them.
“What the fuck?” She wondered as his lifeless corpse slid down the icy pole a bit more until it caught flakes of ice jetting out from the sides of the spear.
“He’s crazy!” Fictillis ran over to the body and grabbed his shoulders, lifting the body up off the spear and setting it on the ground, his hands pulling away swiftly as if Kilegros would jump up and attack him.
‘Well at least the problem fixed itself.’ Ahri thought while watching the lifeless corpse.
The two looked over the body while blood spilled out of the hole where his heart laid in pieces, wondering why this Eonvym would just kill himself to prove a point. A second later, but what felt like an eternity, the blood pooling out of his body froze, seeming to harden before flowing backwards, back into the body it had just spurted out of. The blood flowed back in while Fictillis and Ahri watched, confused and horrified by the supernatural action. The flesh reconnected itself and seemed to flow back together until there wasn’t even a scar.
Kilegros sat up suddenly and grabbed at his heart, finding no wound or trace of any wound.
“Believe me now?” He stood up slowly and gave the two a smug grin.
