Ep 14
Xiao brothers divide and conquer
We open this episode with the reading of the Emperor's edict in court and Prince Qian being named Regent while the Emperor is ill, i.e. racing across the country incognito.
For those who wonder, he is travel by a fast horse this time.
Minister Xian suggests the Empress in not compatible with the Emperor as ever since she was enthroned misfortunes have plagued the Palace and now both are unwell. Daddy Ling jumps in to defend the Empress and asks Prince Qian to decide and he says it is to important go ask the Emperor. Prince Qian then suggests that they stop gossiping and get down to business. He remarks that the war in Jiangzhou is still at a standoff, Daddy Ling wants to send more grain but the Prince asks about Xuzhou instead. Unfortunately everyone still needs grain. While faking a headache he dismisses court.
Daddy Ling holds his own Court and they want to run to the Emperor, instead they get sent home
Later a bunch of Ministers meet Daddy Ling wanting to run to the Emperor about Prince Qian's behavior. Unfortunately, Ling knows the Emperor is gone so he tells them all to go home.
His new plan is the threaten the Governor of Xuzhou into writing a false report about the end of the disaster. Empress Dowager however wants to make the disaster worse.
While visiting her Prince Qian covers for the Emperor telling the Dowager that XH is seriously ill.
Princess Ying and Hong Qing
Princess Ying is having a tantrum but is immediately happy to see Hong Qing. She has made a new Snake repellant for him but he is angry that she used one of his men as snake bait and the guy nearly died from poisoning. He scolds her for causing trouble and ignoring lives.
Instead of going to work, Prince Qian goes to see his sister. Seeing her playing with poison he tells her not to. She asks if he also thinks she will kill someone. Insisting that she never meant to harm anyone. Well besides the Emperor but that is ok right?
**Why do people think they can kill the Emperor and not face consequence? Qian did it in Southern Chu, Cangcang tried with a sword after her Master died, Princess also keeps trying. I can understand him letting of his family and his love but Luo Xianxue has tried several times with intent to kill and he faced no repercussions.**
Prince Qian catches on that Princess Ying likes Hongqing and is ok with the idea and promises to send him over. Hmm.. so he is ok with his brother's right hand guy being with his sister?
Cangcang Makes New Friends
KuMoEr treat Cangcang to breakfast and she spins him a tale about how she snuck into the Palace to steal the Lingbi sect leaders toke from the Emperor but all she got was the Empress Seal. She joined the troops to escape and stayed with then since they had good food. He doesn't buy it and neither does KuMinJa. They are all getting along well trading insults. KuMinJa is looking for a good looking guy so she is still sad that Cangcang is female.
Preceptor Du decides to delay arriving as a strategy to get KuMoEr to calm down. General Li the head of the guards knows they are supposed to get a hostage but he doesn't know whom so Du is in charge.
Prince Qian Goes on Strike
Prince Qian finds the memorials all nonsense and feels sorry for his brother who has to deal with them regularly.
Maybe he doesn't want to be Emperor now?
He gets the fake message from the Governor of Xuzhou stating all is well and no grain needed and immediately knows it is Daddy Lings behind it.
He decides to go for to the hot springs and directs Li Hongqing to be sent for him.
While the Emporer is away these 2 are now full time babysitters!
His bath is also interrupted. These brothers are both the same. Hongqing also arrives and catches on quick that Prince Qian is not alone.
When did he get his tattoo fixed?
The turtle couple first end up in the bath together, then end up on top of each other on the couch. How soon till they make it official?
Prince Xian wants Zhong Lin to go to Xuzhou to find out the truth and get a statement from the Governor. She meanwhile is all worried since Cangcang is missing. Wait Cangcang didn't tell her? She really is self absorbed at times. Poor Zhong Lin has been planning the great escape and the Phoenix already flew the coop. Prince Xian brings her up to speed that the Empress is long gone to Jiangzhou and the Emperor is also gone so all is good. He really does have faith that his brother can fix anything. Zhong Lin is reminded that the Fenglai Pavilion was founded to support the people. She agrees and they flirt some more before saying goodbye.
Prince Qian Plays Matchmaker
Prince Qian tells Hongqing that Princess Ying is kind and would never harm the innocent. She feels deeply especially for those she likes. Hongqing realizes he misunderstood her and decides to go apologize. He seems sincere.
Meanwhile the Princess decides to send silver and her favorite things to the guard. They share a sweet moment and the Princess says she trusts him and will do as he says as he knows right from wrong. She tells him she remembers him and will treat him well.
Prince Qian is Finally Working
Daddy Ling wants the grain to Jiangzhou released since the report said all was well. Prince Qian stalls saying the Minister of Revenue must count and he will verify it first, he needs 7-8 days. Ling wants it done in 3. How fast is Zhong Lin? Isn't she a forgery expert? Why didn't they fake it.
I missed seeing our Emperor today but at least we now know that he cant teleport.
Will our Main Couple be glad to see each other next episode? It is time to see the Emperor take action again.
