Is it safe to travel Sri Lanka from Dec 1st to 9th?

We have the following itinerary:

2-4th Dec: Nuwara Eliya (going from Colombo via bus)
4-6th Dec: Ella (going from Nuwara Eliya via train)
6-8th Dec: Mirissa
8-9th Dec: Colombo

Will it be safe to stick to this plan? Please help us.
