Do your birthdays matter?

Another birthday yesterday (46) and I’m certainly thankful for life, a career, family, and all the blessings I’ve been given. Maybe it’s Dad’s passing earlier this year, the weight of two mortgages while we await foreclosure proceedings on the previous house which can’t sell due to repairs, a marriage in which the relationship isn’t even close to being a top-priority to my wife who is a very overworked Special Education teacher.

With a wife, two kids, and a brother in law over today, I spent most of the day isolated- working on organizing Dad’s possessions in my garage, or just chilling on my bed. Did get a nice game of catch outside with my son, which included a walk around the neighborhood.

Enjoyed hearing birthday wishes (mostly from FB) and a few text messages.

Overall, I just feel 🤷‍♂️ about it being my birthday.
