Can we please not draw conclusions about the spring comeback from solo numbers?
I just feel like it isn’t really fair, or even sensible, to judge their group comeback based on how the solo releases are doing. A lot of fans aren’t fully tuned into every solo, and that is completely normal, so it doesn’t give a full picture of how things will be when they are together again.
And honestly, casual listeners deserve more credit. It wasn’t only the fans who talked about streaming that helped create those huge numbers and records in the past. Casual listeners played a very big role too, even if they are quieter and not part of the online conversations.
Also, if numbers are being compared, it’s worth remembering how well Jungkook’s solo did and who's longevity. Many of the members’ solos are still charting globally on Spotify, they hot 100 entries and the full fandom wasn't even at work.
Most importantly remember the ptd live album numbers? It wasn't even promoted, not a single post by any member yet it broke records for a live album in general not kpop.
It is just that the fandom cannot always maintain the same level of energy for solo releases that they naturally have for a full group comeback, especially with the solos happening one after another.
