Birthday Vent

We often keep holidays lowkey for my husband and me - we have 3 young kids and we put our focus into.

A couple weeks ago, after I purchased the things I wanted for my birthday (some kitchen stuff and a new cup) so the kids can see me open a gift, I asked my PA husband if he was getting me anything. He said yes.

On my birthday, there was no gift and no card or letter. If we don’t get each other gifts, we always do a card or a love note. I have a ton of blank cards at home. He said “time got away from him” meanwhile, 2 nights before my birthday he spent over 2 hours in the middle of the night playing porn video games. But he didn’t have time to get me this “gift” he was planning, or write me a short note. It’s things like this that make me feel like he doesn’t actually care, though he apologized and said he “still wants to get me the gift.” It just makes me feel sad.
