Light Cleric optimization

Thinking of trying my hand at a cleric for the first time. I played lots of sorcerers and wizards, never played with a cleric (besides on BG3 runs).

What is their play style? i read Magic initiate wizard is a must for shield, but i love find familiar to be honest.

What feats to look for? i will roll for stats. Spell choices or combos?

Purpose is not to be a healbot. True strike is decent with light crossbow right?
